Next Door to Love

Stella was a  cook in a restaurant. 

Her friend, Janet wanted Stella to get a new boyfriend.

A man who was called Tony moved to next door to her.

He was kind so Stella was attracted by him.

One day, Stella saw a young girl in Tony’s garden and Stella found out that she was his daughter.

Tony didn’t want to see her because she had a new family.

He said to Stella that he loves her but he always thought about his family.

 

At the end of the story, Stella and Tony moved to Scotland because his daughter also moved there.

When they lost the case, I thought Tony couldn’t see his daughter again.

But Stella suggested to Tony that they should move to Scotland.

When they were in Scotland, Tony could meet his daughter anytime.

If I were Stella, my feeling would be complicated.

 

 

 

 

Hotel Casanova

Dino was 21 years old and worked at hotel.

He had a plan.

When he is 26 years old, he will meet a woman he wants to get married.

When he is 30 years old, he will have the hotel.

But his plan changed because he met a beautiful woman, Carla and he was in love.

She was very rich so he got his hotel after he married her.

He worked hard every day so he wanted to take day off but Carla didn’t allow him to do that.

She suddenly said that she killed her husband.

Dino couldn’t understand what she said…

 

Before I read this story, I thought it was a love story but it wasn’t.

Dino got everything he wanted but his married life wasn’t going well.

Carla loved Dino too much so she felt jealous of his co-worker.

At the ending, Carla tried to kill Dino and his co-worker but her strategy was not unsuccessful.

When I thought about Carla’s feeling, that was too bad.

 

 

JUST LIKE A MOVIE

Black is a handyman and loves the movies.

He went to the cinema with his girlfriend, Gina every weekend.

He wanted to get married with her but they don’t have money.

He got an idea to get much money from the movie.

It was that a woman married very rich but old and sick man.

About six months later, the man suddenly died.

She got all his money and married her young boyfriend.

Black tried to get money like the woman in the movie.

 

This was the story of Toronto.

I knew some places in this story and I missed Toronto.

Black seemed to succeed his idea like a movie but suddenly his situation changed.

He was in prison and he couldn’t get much money.

The ending was different from that I expected.

This book was very interesting!!

 

 

 

 

THE CARIBBEAN FILE

Munro is a British agent. 

Naylor, Munro’s boss, asked him to go to Caribbean and find two terrorists, Tajik and Beck.

Munro found them at the hotel in Caribbean.

He met Salgado who was a beautiful woman there and talked with her.

He saw her with Tajik and Beck in the car at night.

Munro followed them and found out that she was also a terrorist.

They kidnapped a boy because his father was the number one nuclear scientist in the world and Tajik and Beck wanted a nuclear to become the world’s first terrorists.

 

I couldn’t guess the reason why terrorists kidnapped a boy.

It was for getting nuclear.

I haven’t heard nuclear terrorists but they would be very dangerous if they were in the real world.

When two terrorists tried to shoot Munro, I was scared because I thought he would die.

Salgado shot them and helped Munro and the boy.

I didn’t expect that she helped Munro.

 

The Ironing Man

Tom and Marina lived in a small village. 

They didn’t have friends because everyone in the village was older.

Tom was too busy with his new job that he didn’t spend a lot with Marina.

She stayed at home all day and she didn’t like housework, especially ironing.

She would like to find someone else to do it for her.

One day a good-looking man visited and said that he came to iron for her.

Something strange happened.

Who was he? Why did he come?

 

At first, I didn’t understand the meaning of “the ironing man” and I didn’t know what kind of story this book was.

But the meaning of the title was simple after I read this book.

Tom and Marina had been married for three years but they didn’t spend a lot of time on staying together.

By something strange happened to them, they were getting closer as before.

Tom and Marina saw three people in the beach at the end of this story.

I would like to know the continuation.

Just Good Friends

Stephany is a language teacher. 

Max is an architect.

They love each other and they decided to visit Italy to spend their holidays.

Stephany asked to Carlo, who is her friend and lives in Italy, if Stephany and Max could stay at Carlo’s flat for two weeks.

Ruth, who is Carlo’s wife, allowed Stephany to stay at the flat but she didn’t want Stephany to stay at it because she worried about Carlo’s relationship with Stephany.

Max also worried about Stephany’s relationship with Carlo.

 

Stephany loves Max but she was attracted by Carlo.

Carlo loves his wife and children but he was attracted by Stephany.

They tried to keep being good friends.

I could understand what each person felt as I read the story.

At the end of the story, Stephany broke up with Max.

I was surprised because Stephany wasn’t sorry for him and reflect on her conduct.

 

How I Met Myself

John Taylor is an English computer programmer in Budapest.

When he walked on the street, someone ran out of a building and knocked him down into the snow.

He was surprised to look at the man and he couldn’t understand what happened to him because the man looked like Taylor.

Taylor followed the man but there were only Taylor’s footprints in the snow.

Who is the man who looked like Taylor?

What will happen to him?

 

This book was interesting because I read a book about doppelgänger for the first time.

Taylor’s doppelgänger had the same name as Taylor.

His wife and his child had also the same name as Taylor’s!

When I knew these facts, I couldn’t believe.

These facts were not just the same by chance.

His doppelgänger tried to tell Taylor something important.

STRONG MEDICINE

Mark Latto is a British doctor.

Deborah Spencer is an American doctor of Chinese medicine.

She was trying a new way of helping people who have Parkinson’s Disease.

Latto went to California to see Deborah because he wanted to learn more from her.

When he arrived, he found Deborah was dead.

Nobody had broken into the house. Nobody had been fighting in the house.

But Latto thought that Deborah was murdered.

Who killed her and Why?

Latto was trying to look for the person who killed Deborah with Detective Martinez.

 

When I knew who killed Deborah and why she was murdered, I was surprised and felt sad.

The reason the person killed her was selfish.

Deborah just wanted to help people who has Parkinson’s Disease.

But her dream didn’t come true.

TWO LIVES

Huw and Megan lived in the small village and loved each other.

Megan’s father disagreed their relationship.

Huw decided to move to Toronto with his father to start new life.

He promised to send letters to Megan and come back.

 

Fifty years later, Megan found the box filled with many letters in her parents’ room.

All letters were from Huw and they weren’t open.

Megan thought Huw forgot her because nothing was from Huw during fifty years.

But Huw kept sending letters to Megan.

Huw and Megan’s new life was starting again.

The House by the Sea

John met Carl who is Joan’s old friend.

It was a long time since John had seen him.

John was surprised to hear that Carl divorced Linda, who is also Joan’s old friend.

Carl talked about what happened between him and Linda.

 

Carl and Linda bought a house by the house to spend on weekends.

They promised to see at the house but Linda didn’t arrive at the house.

What happened to her?

 

Every time he found something related to Linda, my heart was beating because I thought someone killed her.

When he found the fish head in his bed, I thought it was Linda.

This is the sad story.

It was very different from what I expected.
